Melissa’s 20 years’ experience working as an agricultural journalist provides her with a deep understanding of many rural sectors and an ability to efficiently deliver key messages to an audience.
Prior to joining Cox Inall in 2016, Melissa edited Fairfax Media’s FarmOnline group of rural news websites, encompassing all of the sites for the company’s agricultural weekly newspapers.
Melissa has also worked as a senior journalist for two of Fairfax Media’s weekly agricultural newspapers – The Land in NSW and later Queensland Country Life, based at Rockhampton.
Working in both print and digital media in a rapidly evolving media landscape has given her the knowledge and experience to craft messages that speak directly to their desired target.
Writing about issues impacting a broad cross-section of rural sectors, in settings ranging from on-farm through to the board rooms of agribusiness, has given her the ability to relate to and connect with stakeholders throughout the agricultural supply chain.
It has also allowed her to develop an extensive network of contacts throughout the rural industry and the media.
